Ji-Japanese single malt whisky: aged 2 years in Sherry casks and 3 years in bourbon casks. Neither colored nor chill-filtered.

Mahogany color

A nose with delicate notes of chamomile, cereals 

. 

When savoring this whisky, we are immediately seduced by its exquisite roundness in the mouth. Scents of red fruits mingle with buttery, brioche and vanilla touches. It is a true symphony of flavors. The persistence in the mouth is remarkable, ending on a subtly peaty note. This is a profile that I particularly appreciate.

Enjoyed as an aperitif or digestive with a good cigar.

Un nez sur des notes délicates Camomille, céréales

En savourant ce whisky, on est immédiatement séduit par sa rondeur exquise en bouche. Des effluves de fruits rouges se mêlent à des touches beurrées, briochées et vanillées. C'est une véritable symphonie de saveurs. La persistance en bouche est remarquable, se terminant sur une note subtilement tourbée. C'est un profil que j'apprécie tout particulièrement.

Dégusté en apéritif ou digestif avec un bon cigare.

Accords mets et whisky : Ce single malt d’Akashi se mariera parfaitement avec des noix de Saint Jacques au sésame grillé.

🇬🇧Description of the distillery

Akashi is a city before it is a whisky. It is located on the seaside, just above the island of Awaji near Osaka Bay. The city gave its name to a whisky produced by the very old Eigashima distillery, also known as White Oak. It was founded in 1888 and produced shochu and sake. It was the first to receive a whisky production license, in 1919. However, it was not the city that signed the birth certificate of Japanese whisky strictly speaking. It would embark on the adventure much later and it was not until 1984 that an expansion of the distillery allowed it to increase production. The Akashi brand was then created in 2007.

Akashi est une ville avant d’être un whisky. Elle se trouve en bord de mer, juste au-dessus de l’île d’Awaji près de la baie d’Osaka. La ville a donné son nom à un whisky produit par la très ancienne distillerie Eigashima, aussi connue sous le nom de White Oak. Elle a été fondée en 1888 et produisait du shochu et du saké. Elle fut la première à recevoir une licence de production de whisky, en 1919. Ce n’est pourtant pas elle qui signe l’acte de naissance du whisky japonais à proprement parler. Elle se lancera dans l’aventure bien plus tard et il faut attendre 1984 pour qu’un agrandissement de la distillerie permette d’accroître la production. La marque Akashi est alors créée en 2007.
