Côtes du Roussillon Villages Les Aspres red, L’Astre Noir cuvée from Château Montana @chateau_montana

Vintage: 2022

🍇: Syrah, Grenache, Carignan

.

👀: The color is dense, opaque, a deep purple with garnet highlights. It's easy to see why it's called "L'Astre Noir": it's a wine that doesn't shine, it gleams.

👃:First nose: ripe black fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, a hint of blueberry jam. Then comes garrigue, bay leaf, a hint of black pepper, and that slightly wild, almost animal base. With air, it opens up to notes of cocoa and a touch of blond tobacco.

 👄: A frank, generous, and full-bodied attack. It's sunny without being heavy, dense without being stifling. The tannins are present but polished.

It rolls off the tongue with a velvety, almost pulpy texture. The black fruit returns, accompanied by a subtle spicy bitterness and a slightly roasted finish, like a coffee bean crunched between sips.

🍇 : Syrah, Grenache, Carignan

👀: La robe est dense, opaque, un violet profond avec des reflets grenat. On comprend vite pourquoi il s’appelle “L’Astre Noir” : c’est un vin qui ne brille pas, il luit.

👃:Premier nez : du fruit noir bien mûr, cassis, mûre, un soupçon de confiture de myrtille. Puis vient la garrigue, le laurier, un trait de poivre noir et ce fond un peu sauvage, presque animal. Avec l’air, ça s’ouvre sur des notes de cacao, un peu de tabac blond.

👄 :Attaque franche, généreuse, pleine de jus. C’est solaire sans être lourd, dense sans être étouffant. Les tanins sont présents mais polis.

Ça roule sur la langue avec une texture veloutée, presque pulpeuse. Le fruit noir revient, escorté par une fine amertume d’épices et une finale un brin torréfiée, genre grain de café croqué entre deux gorgées.

Accords mets et vin : À boire sur une côte de bœuf grillée, ou sur un plat mijoté, genre un agneau aux herbes.
